This summer, we’re putting a little spin on the popular show, The Summer I Turned Pretty—instead, we’re focusing on having a CHRIST-centered summer & making this The Summer I Turned Godly!

PLEASE NOTE: I 1000% do not recommend The Summer I Turned Pretty, especially for teenagers. The amount of language, substance abuse, and mature content—even just the message the show sends—is definitely worth avoiding. It actually breaks my heart to see so many young people watching this show & looking at these characters as role models. Their lifestyles portray a LOT of sin with very LITTLE consequences, which is not realistic. The life Jesus has for us is so much better! *Alexa, play YOUR WAY’S BETTER by Forrest Frank* That’s why I wanted to do this Little Bible Plan!

I’ve personally watched this show with VidAngel, a streaming service that allows you to take out content you don’t want to see/hear, like language & immorality. Even then, watch at your own discretion. (I personally don’t recommend it for teens even with VidAngel.) These are just my personal opinions, but I wanted to put this out there, especially for parents of tweens or teens!

LITTLE BIBLE PLAN

If you were here for June’s plan, you’ll know we’re continuing our journey through Acts this month! If you weren’t here, no worries at all—this is a great place to jump right in.

I noticed that last month’s passages had several mentions of the sea, which made me smile & feel like Acts has very coastal summer vibes. 🙂

I’m so excited to continue this book with you all this month!

If you need help understanding the passages or want to dive deeper in your study, I highly recommend the Enduring Word commentaries! (Click here to find the commentary for Acts.)

THE SUMMER I TURNED GODLY

Instead of The Summer I Turned Pretty, let’s make this The Summer I Turned Godly.

Here’s the difference:

  • A Christ-centered summer, not a self-centered summer.
  • A summer filled with Jesus, not the temporary pleasures of this world.
  • Chasing after Jesus instead of chasing after things that will never satisfy.
  • Becoming women of God who want more of Jesus and less of the world.

Who’s with me?

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” —1 Timothy 4:12

On this month’s Little Bible Plan, you’ll find a mix of fun + Christ-centered coastal summer ideas to help you grow closer to Jesus and make the most of your summer!

As always, these ideas are just for fun. Feel free to do as many or as little as you like, and they don’t have to be done on the day they’re listed.

I’m putting this note here again for anyone who didn’t see it at the top of the blog post:
