This world has plenty of ideas about who we should be as girls, as ladies, as women. But Proverbs 31 tells us what kind of woman GOD wants us to be. In this Bible study series, we’ll be going through several different qualities that the Proverbs 31 woman possesses, and we’ll relate each one to a Disney princess. Feel free to do these studies with your friends, your Bible study group, or just with us!

Devotion:
The very first quality we read about the Proverbs 31 woman is that she is virtuous. She is good. She is pure. She has high standards for herself, even though the rest of the world mocks her for choosing to do what is right. And that makes her rare.
She is more precious than rubies. -Proverbs 31:10b
Rapunzel was rare, too. Yes, because she had 70 feet of golden, glowing locks, but it was more than just her hair that made her stand out. Her kindness, goodness and pure heart were evident to everyone she met. Whether it was the ruffians and thugs at The Snuggly Duckling, the townspeople of Corona, or Flynn Rider, Rapunzel’s light inspired each person she came in contact with.
Our world is a very dark, messed up place. And it’s getting worse every day. Right is wrong. Wrong is right. People are ridiculed for doing the right thing and praised for doing what’s wrong. Sometimes it can feel like you’re all alone in your convictions and beliefs; like no one else cares about living for God. Maybe you’re the only Christian in your school, your workplace, or your family. Your peers might make you feel like a hypocrite or a hater for what you believe in. Maybe you even see Christians compromising on sin a little here and there, saying, “Oh, that’s not so bad.”
Could they be right? Is it really that bad? Maybe it’s not. No one else seems to care. Is it even worth it?
Yes. Yes, it is worth it.
The world needs your light. Your difference. It needs truth. It needs women who will stand for what is right, what is pure, what is holy.
You may be thinking, “That sounds impossible.” Are we supposed to be perfect? Absolutely not. That’s why we need Jesus. There may be times when we sink so low into the gutter that we feel like God couldn’t possibly want to pull us out. But that’s who He is. He is grace. He is love. His forgiveness never runs out, and His redeeming love inspires us to try again and say “no” to temptation, with His help.
So daughter of the King, don’t be afraid to stand for your Father, even if you’re standing alone. He will never let you down. He wants the very best for you, His precious daughter, and His way is always worth it.
This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.” -Jeremiah 6:16
